Step 1 Face shape and hair type

Step 2 Communication
Firstly try and get a recommendation from someone you trust. Bring along a photograph to the salon as this is a great way for your stylist to see the exact look you are looking for. Take the advice of your hairdresser because they will be able to advise you whether your ideas are practical or not and work out something that is right for you.
Step 3 Maintenance
Try to get a hairstyle that is possible for you to maintain. A good cut should fall well with the minimum of care but be practical about what you are willing to do and ask for a style that sits within your limits. Don't forget to discuss this with your stylist and make sure you ask your hairdresser to show you how to achieve any height or lift that you see as essential to your style.
